Environment Systems maintains BS8555 accreditation
We are pleased to share that Environment Systems has successfully renewed their BS8555 accreditation.
BS 8555 allows organisations to implement and maintain an environmental management system using a step-by-step approach, with the option to stop at any of the five stages, driving positive cultural change. The step-by-step approach enables adopters of the standard to attain a level suitable for ISO 14001 certification.
The most important benefit of BS8555 accreditation is that it provides our partner organisations with the assurance of our commitment to managing our business’s environmental impact.
Like any accreditation, success reflects the hard work of particular individuals within the company. We are particularly grateful to James Rugg, one of our GIS and mapping analysts, who managed the accreditation process for Environment Systems.

An effective EMS will:

Benefits include:
– Cost Savings
– Reduced risk of fines for non-compliance with environmental legislation.

– Less waste
– Positive social responsibility
What does it involve?
– An assessment of how your organisation’s activities, products, processes and services might affect the environment; the development of an environmental policy
– An environmental improvement programme
– Written procedures to control activities with a significant environmental impact
What are the objectives?
– To collect all waste transfer notes and make sure our waste collectors are licenced to carry and deal with waste
– To record electricity, gas, water and waste figures throughout the year
