Environment Systems’ Environment Management System (EMS) has been re-accredited to BS8555:2003 Phase 2
An EMS serves as a tool to improve environmental performance and provides us with a framework through which our environmental performance can be monitored, controlled and improved.
In the last year we have:

  • Achieved a 44% reduction in general waste
  • Consumed 20% less gas
  • Reduced the amount of printing paper purchased by 64%

In 2013/14 we have set the following targets:

  • Further reduce printing paper consumption
  • Reduce waste generated even further by re-cycling redundant computer equipment
  • Reduce electricity consumption through better PC management and judicious attention to office lighting
  • Establish a baseline for transport carbon emissions by recording emissions and mileage from all car journeys used for all company meetings, conferences and exhibitions.

“Since achieving accreditation two years ago we have successfully reduced the amount of land fill waste we generate, reduced our energy consumption, reduced the amount of paper we consume and improved our recycling performance. We are committed to improving the environmental impact of our business even though it becomes more challenging year on year,” said Graeme Summers, Director.
